The London Marathon is the world's biggest and most iconic marathon having raised over £1 billion for charity! The course is set around the River Thames, starting in Blackheath and finishing at The Mall. SportsAid and the London Marathon have a long history together. Back in 1984, SportsAid, known then as the Sports Aid Foundation (SAF), was selected as the first official charity of the London Marathon and granted entry places to help with fundraising.
SportsAid has a limited amount of guaranteed places for the TCS London Marathon in 2022! You can apply to run for SportsAid by completing our application form.

Successful in the TCS London Marathon ballot? No problem....you can still receive all of the above support! Your entry fee will be refunded to you or can be donated to the team's fundraising total. You also won't have a specific fundraising target. SportsAid also holds places in the TCS London Marathon in April 2023 and you can register your interest here.

The Great Birmingham Run is a new event for SportsAid in an exciting year for Birmingham, with the 2022 Commonwealth Games taking over the city in July/August next year. Starting in the heart of the city, runners soak up the atmosphere and music all the way to the finish, passing our famous entertainment zones every km. Experience an exciting half marathon course incorporating the historic heart of Birmingham, its latest developments and world-famous heritage sites.

The Vitality London 10,000 returns to London in 2022 and is known as one of the best road races in the UK for its distance. The race starts on The Mall and the course takes in several famous landmarks and finishes in front of Buckingham Palace. Perfect for those who are new to running or wanting to make the most of the closed roads for this spectacular 10km race.

RideLondon-Essex 100 is back with a brand new route! The event is a unique opportunity to ride 100 miles on traffic-free roads through the heart of London and neighbouring Essex. It will start and finish in the centre of the capital, with 60 miles of rolling roads through some of Essex’s most beautiful countryside and villages in between.

The Great North Run is one of the most iconic and biggest half marathons in the world with over 57,000 runners taking part in the famous 13.1 mile event. The course takes in the iconic Tyne Bridge and finishes in the coastal town of South Shields. The event returns in 2022 after celebrating its 40th year in 2021. Perfect for those wanting to take on a more challenging half marathon and receive a warm North East welcome in an unbeatable atmosphere.

The London to Brighton Cycle Ride is one of the country's biggest and most epic biking adventures! The 55 mile route provides solo first time riders and velo-enthusiastic teams with a stunning, picturesque route through southern England countryside, followed by a thigh-busting climb up Ditchling Beacon before gliding down to Brighton Seafront.

The Royal Parks Half Marathon takes in many of the capital's world-famous landmarks on closed roads, and four of the eight Royal Parks - Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James's Park and Kensington Gardens.
