Talented young athletes currently supported by SportsAid are showing their backing for the charity by helping to promote SportsAid Week 2021 and this year’s #MyMiles Challenge! SportsAid Week is a key annual fundraising initiative for the charity and has raised over £175,000 since its inception in 2016. The #MyMiles Challenge, which was launched during SportsAid Week 2017, has helped to shine a spotlight on the commitment, dedication and sacrifice of the country’s next generation of sporting heroes by encouraging the charity’s supporters to undertake their own physical challenges.

There are 17 current beneficiaries of the charity’s support who have taken on the role as SportsAid Week Athlete Ambassadors. This has seen them spreading the word about SportsAid Week among their friends, family, team-mates and sporting networks, and encourage people to get involved in the #MyMiles Challenge. Any money raised through the Challenge helps to support talented young athletes in many different ways. It can used to cover training and competition costs, including equipment and transport, and also provides personal development opportunities through the charity.

The SportsAid Week Athlete Ambassadors are also dedicating time on their social media channels over the course of the next seven days to offer an insight into their lives as young athletes. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Athlete Ambassadors for their support….please take the time to view their accounts and find out more about their sporting journeys and ambitions for the future…
