I was first involved in swimming from a very young age, and regularly took lessons from age 5-6. I was really inspired to take swimming seriously when i was 7 years old and had the opportunity to meet Clare Cashmore at an event for a national charity for children with upper limb disorders. She brought her medals from 2012 and I decided at that point that i wanted to be competitive swimmer
I will typically train 5 or 6 times per week either in the mornings or the evenings - or sometimes both. I train with my club at a variety of pools including a 50m pool in Hillingdon. It is always a very early start as swimming starts at 0530. I need to get back quickly too to get on my bus to school at 0730. I am often competing twice a month in local or regional competitions, preparing myself for a big performance at the national and international para swimming events. Its tough in the winter months because it is always dark, but really enjoy the early starts in the summer.
I am a very competitive person by nature and I love to continually improve myself. I thrive on the competitions and am able to regularly come away with personal bests. Away from competition i have some great friends .
Clare Cashmore. i was inspired when i met her when i was 7. She is similar to me, and she has achieved so much. She is hero.
Aside from swimming, i'm keen on table tennis, and am a decent chess player too.
