BOA Announce Team GB Short Track Speed Skaters for Vancouver 2010

Team GB will be sending seven short track speed skating athletes to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games in February, four of which are currently supported by the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme.

The Team GB short track speed skating athletes in Vancouver will be:

Men: Jon Eley, Anthony Douglas (Current TASS 2012 Athlete), Paul Worth, Jack Whelbourne (Current TASS 2012 Athlete), Tom Iveson (Current TASS 2012 Athlete).

Women: Sarah Lindsay, Elise Christie (Current TASS 2012 Athlete).

This is a significant improvement from the Turin 2006 Olympic Winter Games, when four short track speed skaters qualified to represent Team GB.

SportsAid, previously known as SportsAid Foundation (SAF), was founded in 1976. Its principal function was to raise funds from the private sector to provide financial assistance to Britain's amateur sportsmen and women. The aim was to help them prepare for competitions against better-funded, overseas athletes.
