Twelve SportsAid athletes confirmed for London 2012 Olympics

07 December, 2011

The recent announcements on December 3 and December 6 that marathon runner Paula Radcliffe and boxer Luke Campbell will compete for Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics take the number of SportsAid athletes confirmed for Team GB to 12 (out of 19).

The announcement on December 6 that Paula Radcliffe will be part of the GB women's marathon team came just days after boxer Luke Campbell learned he had been selected for the bantamweight (up to 56 kg) boxing competition in London next year. Paula received her SportsAid Award in 1994 while Luke received a TASS Award from SportsAid in 2005.

The other ten SportsAid athletes who were selected for TeamGB earlier this year are all members of the 11-strong sailing team.
