Fundraising Ideas
Guess your finish time
Charge people to guess how long it will take you to complete the event. Each guess a person makes will cost an amount. The person that comes closest gets a prize.
Wimbledon 2010
If you missed holding the sweepstakes for the FIFA World Cup, you have another opportunity with Wimbledon 2010. Organise a sweepstakes with your office colleagues to raise money for SportsAid.
FIFA World Cup 2010
The fundraising opportunities around the FIFA World Cup are endless. Hold an office Sweepstake or a five-a-side tournament to boost your fundaising. It is sports related and will be a great way to tell your story about helping other young talented athletes in Britain that need support.
Fundraise Online
SportsAid recommends you use Virgin Money Giving to promote your fundraising. Online giving is fast, safe and easy and we’ve found that people give more online than off – getting you to your target faster.
We have reviewed both Justgiving and Virgin Money Giving and believe that Virgin Money Giving is the best option for both you the fundraiser and SportsAid the charity. This decision is based on their lower costs and the great support they’re offering. SportsAid will continue to be able to receive money from Justgiving but to make your money go further we recommend you use Virgin Money Giving to promote your fundraising.
SportsAid's dedicated online fundraising site allows visitors to create their own fundraising pages on behalf of the charity for events and general donations.
It is safe, quick and easy to use, ensuring the collection of donations from people all around the world with just the click of a button. Create your own fundraising web page by going to Virgin Money Giving Follow the step by step guide, it’s FREE and takes less than 5 minutes to set up.
Sponsorship Forms – download and print a SportsAid Sponsorship Form.
Don’t forget to Gift Aid your donations. When you do, 25p is automatically added to your online account for every pound donated. (UK taxpayers only). Funds then come directly to us and we’ll be able to help athletes, straight away.
Payroll giving
Payroll giving is a simple and effective way of supporting SportsAid. It provides a stable income, enabling SportsAid to plan for future projects. It easy to join, tax free, and the Government will add 10% to each gift. This can be particularly effective if the company encourages its staff by matching all or part of their giving.
Gifts in kind
Support for SportsAid does not necessarily need to be in the form of cash sponsorship. By sponsoring services that we would normally have to purchase you free up more money for our charitable work.
