For the next generation
On the evening of Saturday 28 June 2014 Sir Elton John CBE will be giving a very special solo performance for SportsAid in the beautiful gardens of Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire.
At this intimate summer concert SportsAid is aiming to raise £500,000 to create a new athlete fund with Sir Elton John that will help young people who hope to represent Great Britain at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
SportsAid would be delighted if you could join the charity as a VIP guest with a superb hospitality package in support this fantastic cause.
Sir Elton John is one of the world’s most highly acclaimed solo artists. He has 35 gold and 25 platinum albums to his name and has played more than 3,000 concerts worldwide. With a lifelong passion for sport, his support for SportsAid dates back to the charity’s founding years in the late 1970s.
“I am so excited to be part of this landmark event for SportsAid and to be helping the young, aspiring sports stars of the future. I know we can make a big difference to their lives by setting up this new fund.” Sir Elton John
Through ticket sales alone this concert aims to raise £500,000 for SportsAid to help young athletes who are giving everything in their pursuit of Paralympic or Olympic success. Thanks to your support, this will create a new athlete fund with Sir Elton John that will build on the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to ensure subsequent generations have the support they need to achieve their ambitions at Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and beyond.
SportsAid’s patron is Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge. She is helping the charity to shine a light on the incredible commitment of young British athletes so it can help them to overcome some of the many challenges they face. These athletes are typically aged 12 to 18 and already train more than 15 hours a week after school. SportsAid helps them to meet essential costs such as travel, kit, accommodation and competition fees which are vital to their ability to compete at the level they do.
Stoke Park, Country Club, Hotel & Spa, is an historic 300-acre private estate with a beautiful 14-acre garden at its heart, overlooked by an 18th century, grade one listed palladian Mansion. The Mansion and grounds have previously taken starring roles in films such as Goldfinger, Layer Cake and Bridget Jones’s Diary.
Within these gardens, all guests will be in reserved seats with direct views of the stage, providing a truly beautiful yet incredibly intimate setting for this star-studded event. Just 35 minutes from central London, seven miles from Heathrow and very close to Slough and Gerrards Cross train stations, Stoke Park offers five-star facilities and world-class hospitality to match.
