Jack is partially sighted and competes in the B2
classification. He has only been running since Spring 2008
and has shown remarkable improvement in a short period of
time. He ran in a CP Grand Prix in June 2008 and came a
close second to Ben Rushgrove, who went on to win a Silver
medal in Beijing. This made him realise that perhaps he
could be a good sprinter.

He joined Worcester Athletic Club and trained through the
Winter and Spring of 2008/9. In February this year he asked
Lincoln Asquith if he would help and he is now Jacks coach.

In July he travelled to the IBSA World Championships at
Colorado Springs USA. He competed in three events, 100m,
200m & Long Jump. This was his first major event and he
came back with the 100m Silver medal in 12.2sec, 200m
Bronze medal in 25.9sec and Long Jump Bronze medal with
5.09m.

He had a wonderful time and is very grateful for the
opportunity to represent his country, making many new
friends from different countries and competing against World
Class Paralympic athletes. Winning a medal in each of his
events has been a fantastic achievement and is a credit to
the effort and training by him and the support of his coach.
He is now looking forward to competing at the UK School
Games in September 2009. He will be training through the
Winter months to be ready for the challenges of 2010.

Jack also enjoys art & design, swimming, music, and visiting
friends. He is a part-qualified life guard and a green belt in
Karate.

Speaking of his spot on the SportsAid 16 for 2016 list he
said: "I am really pleased to be selected by SportsAid to be
one of the 16 for 2016. It is a great honour to be recognised
as having the potential to achieve success at
Olympic/Paralympic Level."
