Ellie competes for City of Sheffield, England and Great
Britain. This year she has won the European Junior
Championships 5k taking the Gold medal. It was a great
tactical race, timing her final push for victory to perfection
and leaving 30 of Europe's best in her wake to take the
title in 59min 56sec.

Her talent doesn’t just extend to long distance swimming.
She was also part of the European Junior Swimming
Championships 4х200m freestyle relay team that set a
new European Junior record of 8.08.31.

She’s not only following in the footsteps of World
Champion Keri-Anne Payne but recently broke her age 16
British record in the 400m by over two seconds at the
British Gas ASA National Youth Championships. She said:
“I was aiming to break the record but I didn’t expect to do it
by that much so I’m really pleased. I have done some
open water races with Keri-Anne Payne so to take her
record is quite special.”

Speaking of her spot on the SportsAid 16 for 2016 list she
said: “I’m really honoured that my achievements have
been supported and recognised by SportsAid. I’m really
pleased and encouraged to be selected as one of the 16
for 2016 athletes.”

Eleanor hasn’t just got her sights set on 2016, she hopes
to be selected for the 2012 team and gain some valuable
experience.
