Gold, Men’s Four

Constantine has had a great year. He was part of the
Men’s Four that took Gold at the World Junior
Championships winning in a time of 6:02.4, three seconds
ahead of Romania in second and Australia in third. They
eased into the lead by halfway, overhauling the faststarting
Australians and were never threatened from that
point.
Speak of the GB performance at the World Junior
Championships , Performance Director David Tanner said:
"I've been very, very impressed with the maturity and
commitment shown here by this group of young rowers
and in the way in which they've approached this event.
The medals have been hard-won, there has been some
great racing and we have got some very good rowers for
the future.”
He has also returned from Boston, US after winning the
Youth Eights category as Eton College at the Head of the
Charles’ Regatta. This is the biggest rowing event in the
world (in terms of numbers of athletes and spectators). His
winning margin was by 43 seconds.
He is also working toward Under 23 trials in Lincolnshire
where he’s hoping to make an impression as he moves up
an age group.
The main part of the season is just about over for
Constantine so he’ll now be concentrating on training hard.
Speaking of his spot on the SportsAid 16 for 2016 list he
said: "I feel honoured and privileged to have been put on
this list, and I am reassured to learn that talented athletes
shall receive ongoing support in the run-up to 2016."
