Caroline Matthews
Caroline has been an established member of the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball team since 2002 and has competed at the biggest tournaments worldwide in the last few years. Her classification is 4.5 and the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association believe that she is a key member of the GB team looking forward to the 2010 Worlds and the 2012 Paralympic Games. She will appear at her fifth consecutive Paralympic World Cup in Manchester.
She plays centre for the Cardiff Celts winning the National League title last year.
Chloe Selfe
Age: 14
Sport: Judo
Region: London
Last year Chloe was U16 No3 for her weight and age but unfortunately her rankings have gone down slightly due to the fact that she broke her collar bone and the first competitions back were the Heart of England and the Nationals which rankings are taken from. This year she is working harder to be better than ever before and get back up the top.
In 2009 Chloe will be competing at the Welsh U20, Midland Age Band, Northwest Age Band, Kent International and the Ipswich U20. She is also aiming to win Gold at the National Championships.
To me I feel great being a SportsAid athlete because I feel I’ve been rewarded for my achievement in judo and all the hard work that has been put into it. The funding I received helps me in so many ways like coaching fees, entry fees, travelling and also physio treatment.

Christopher Lloyd
Age: 16
Sport: Golf
Region: Bristol
Christopher Lloyd is an outstanding golfing talent and has performed consistently at the very top of his age group, winning a stream of competitions last year, including the U16 North and South West Boys. He has also demonstrated his 'star quality' by playing for the U16 England team, which were victorious against Scotland and Spain in 2007.
With a swing for success, already this season Christopher has won the Ernie Els World Junior Invitational event in South Africa, receiving the prize trophy from Ernie's Dad!
