Anna Gill
Age: 14
Sport: Disability - Equestrian
Region: London
Since forming a partnership with her new horse, 'Tribal Indian', this young Para-Rider has demonstrated a great deal of promise in the equestrian world.
Anna had a successful 2007 with two placings at the RDA National Championships where she was 6th in the Junior section and 1st in the Junior Freestyle section. Anna also rode internationally and gained two 3rd places in the Junior International Grade III in Millfield. She remains focused on reaching the London Paralympics in 2012. In the meantime, her goal is to secure a regular place in the Team GB Start Potential Squad. We very much hope that the SportsAid intervention will help her towards achieving this.Sarah Armstrong, British Equestrian World Class Programme Project Manager.
Christopher Lloyd
Age: 16
Sport: Golf
Region: Bristol
Christopher Lloyd is an outstanding golfing talent and has performed consistently at the very top of his age group, winning a stream of competitions last year, including the U16 North and South West Boys. He has also demonstrated his 'star quality' by playing for the U16 England team, which were victorious against Scotland and Spain in 2007.
With a swing for success, already this season Christopher has won the Ernie Els World Junior Invitational event in South Africa, receiving the prize trophy from Ernie's Dad!
In the short term, Christopher looks to reduce his already impressive handicap to +3 whilst continuing to play for England at international level. Longer term, he hopes to be selected for the Walker Cup.
Chris is making fantastic progress and has been a top member of the Under 16 squad. He is one of the stars of his age group.Stephen Burnett, Assistant Director of Coaching at the English Golf Union.
