SportsAid’s Athlete of the Month – Shannon Hylton, 20, from Mottingham

Shannon Hylton sent her twin sister Cheriece and close friend Dina Asher-Smith (and probably many more!) into tears after she stormed to the 200m title at the British Athletics Team Trials earlier this month. The stunning victory, in which she equalled her lifetime best of 22.94 seconds, saw her guarantee her place on the start line at the forthcoming London 2017 IAAF World Championships as she was crowned British champion.

Double Olympic champion Heather Stanning set to conquer RideLondon with SportsAid

Great Britain rowing legend Heather Stanning retired last November as a double Olympic, double World, quadruple World Cup and double European champion. The 32-year-old, no longer having a strict training and competition regime to follow, ran the London Marathon earlier this year and is now gearing herself up for this weekend's RideLondon where she will ride for Team SportsAid with her partner Jonny.

Jess Turner, Shannon Hylton and Zak Seddon named in IAAF World Championships squad

Current SportsAid athletes Jessica Turner (pictured), Shannon Hylton and Zak Seddon have been named in the 80-strong team set to represent Great Britain at next month’s IAAF World Championships in London. They are joined by 38 members of SportsAid’s alumni, including ‘double, double’ Olympic champion Mo Farah, plus three TASS athletes being supported this year – Callum Wilkinson, Cameron Chalmers and Sarah McDonald.
