Governance

SportsAid's mission is to help young people succeed in sport. The charity does this by providing them with financial support and recognition for their achievements as they progress in their careers.

Registered charity

SportsAid's charity number is 1111612 (full name: Sports Aid Trust). SportsAid is also a private company limited by guarantee (number: 5538901). The registered office is 21 Bloomsbury Street, London WC1B 3HF.

The charity also operates a wholly owned subsidiary called SAF Promotions Limited (company number: 2508698). The Directors of SAF Promotions are Chris Baillieu, Ian Braid and Mark Davies. The Company Secretary is Ali Nuttycombe, SportsAid's Finance Manager.

Linked to SportsAid is an unincorporated society - The Sports Aid Foundation Society. The Society's committee members are the same as the Board of Trustees. The Chair is Chris Baillieu, the Secretary is Mark Davies and the Treasurer is Mark Lillie. All other trustees of SportsAid are ordinary committee members. The Society is currently dormant.

Equality

In April 2017, the SportsAid Board of Trustees formally adopted a target of a minimum of 30% of each gender on its board. Furthermore, the board committed to progressing towards achieving gender parity and greater diversity on its board, including and not limited to black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) diversity and disability.

Governance

Sports Aid Trust and SAF Promotions Limited are governed by their Memorandum and Articles of Association respectively. The Sports Aid Foundation Society is governed by its Rules and Objectives. Copies of these documents can either be downloaded here or are available upon request:

In addition to the SportsAid Board of Trustees, the SAF Promotions Limited Board of Directors and the Sports Aid Foundation Society Committee, SportsAid has a number of sub-committees and advisory groups. Minutes

Copies of minutes of board meetings, sub-committee meetings and advisory group meetings will be taken as per the terms of reference. Minutes will be published below once approved by the relevant board, sub-committee or advisory group.

SportsAid's mission is to make a bigger difference in helping young talented sports people and to support their wider development as individuals. SportsAid's strategic aims for the period up to 2021 are:

  • to share insight and best practice to support a more positive experience in the talent environment
